Okey Dokey… It’s time to give the blog thing a try for Amped Skydiving. I don’t have a whole ton of reasons for putting this together, other than it’s a fun idea. I know that there are plenty of other Amped Skydivers out there, and this could be a good way for us to connect with each other.
So I guess a quick intro is in order here: My name is Andy Marcoux. I’m a professional horse trainer living in Medway, MA. I became an amputee in 2003 after damn rotten ski accident. I started skydiving in 2010 for a variety of reasons that I’ll share here and there as I write this blog. At this point I’m a B licensed skydiver ready to get my coach rating (I just have to assist in an FJC to receive the card).
Mainly I skydive because it’s one big kick in the ass. There are huge possibilities with the various things I can do with skydiving. This year I’m primarily focused on skill building for formation skydiving (FS), maybe some Canopy Relative Work (CReW), hopefully learning to free fly, and just getting my jump numbers up so I can play other fun games. Next year I’m looking forward to getting into wingsuiting, maybe a little base in the not too far off future, and who knows what else?
There it is. A little start to something that I’m not really 100% sure where it will go. That’s a lot of the fun of it for me though. I’m headed out to the yard to pack up my canopy after hastily stuffing it in my gear bag yesterday afternoon because of a freaky wind squall.
